Three year olds

I remember when Marina was three.  She was so very big.  Practically grown.  A great big girl.  I mean, she use to be smaller and now she is was bigger.  And she was the biggest of my children.

Well guess what?  Three isn’t big at all.

Zoë is just around the corner from three.  She is 2 years 11 months and 10 days.  Just weeks from three.  Zoë is little.  So very little.  Still a baby really.  Though she gets horribly offended if you call her anything but a ‘big girl’ she just doen’t know.  3 year olds are still babies.

And I don’t even think of Marina as practically grown anymore.  At 11 she is a little girl in a bigger body.  LOL.  Maybe she is a big girl now. ;)

SEP’s

We had SEP’s for Marina and Nick yesterday.   This is the same as the old parent-teacher conferences.  Isaac’s teacher is on maternity leave with a new baby boy.

I think both kids have good teachers for them.  Marina’s teacher doesn’t let her give excuses and is available for her to ask questions.  Marina is doing well in all subjects, even the ones that tend to be really tough for her.  She is so clever and creative.   I loved looking through her projects and artwork.  Marina works hard in school and is a good praticipator.

Nicolas is a hard worker and is doing well in almost everything.  Those subjects he is struggling in are because he is not a strong reader.  He goes to reading club one day a week so he can get extra help with his reading.  We think once his reading falls into place better, he will do better on the other subject he is struggling with.  Nicolas doesn’t goof off, or play at school until after his school work is done.   He is so sweet and kind at school.   He is well liked by peers, his teacher, and the staff.   I enjoyed looking at his projects too.

On a side note:  Isaac is also a good match with his teacher.  She has worked very hard with me as a team to work on some behavoir issues we were having.  He is no longer ‘on contract’ which means he has improved to the point he doesn’t need that level of accountability.  He is so sweet with his teacher and she likes him very much.  I did talk with her on the phone one night.  Her and her substitue are in daily contact and keep me informed to Isaac’s progress.

I am grateful my kids alll seem to have good teachers this year.  A good teacher makes so much difference in my children’s lives and education.
